Yesterday, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Executive Director of the Lowy Institute for International Policy, Dr Michael Wesley. In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception to launch the Centenary of the Australian British Chamber of Commerce.Yesterday morning, Her Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Sir Nicholas Shehadie, laid the 1st wreath at the remembrance and wreath laying ceremony, hosted by The Eighth Australian Division Association, to commemorate those who died in action during the Malaya/Singapore Campaign of World War II and those who subsequently perished as Prisoners of War, at The Cenotaph.In the evening, the Governor, accompanied by Sir Nicholas Shehadie, hosted a reception for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation to launch the 10th year of the charity€™s annual major flagship fundraising event, The Balmoral Burn, at Government House.
