Yesterday morning, Her Excellency the Governor received His Excellency Mr Nguyen Thanh Tan, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at Government House.Afterwards, the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council, at Government House. Later, Her Excellency and Sir Nicholas Shehadie left Sydney for Coolangatta and onward journey to Murwillumbah, where they attended a Civic Reception and where the Governor presented the Queen€™s Scout Award to Kristy McAndrew, at Tweed River Regional Art Gallery, Murwillumbah.Subsequently, Her Excellency and Sir Nicholas departed Murwillumbah for Lismore, where they attended a Community Reception where the Governor unveiled the latest work of Mr Geoffrey Hannah, master woodcraftsman and cabinet-maker, atSouthern Cross University, Lismore.The Governor and Sir Nicholas remained overnight in Lismore.News of the Governor-General€™s activities can be viewed at www.gg.gov.au/governorgeneral/gg-program.php.
