Yesterday, at the Royal Military College of Australia, Duntroon, ACT, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the 2009 GeneralService Officers€™ Graduation Parade, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, reviewed the parade and presented the Sword of Honour and the Queen€™s Medal, and afterwards presented Commissions and Graduate Certificates to Staff Cadets. Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-Generalreceived the Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Belgium; the GrandDuchy of Luxembourg; and the European Union, the Honourable Dr Brendan Nelson.Later, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Spain, Ms Zorica McCarthy.In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception for the Australian Public Service departmental secretaries and heads of agencies.Yesterday afternoon, Her Excellency the Governor approved the Premier€™s recommendations for appointment as Members of the Executive Council and as Ministers of State.Afterwards, the Governor officiated at a ceremony at which sheadministered Oaths and Affirmations of Office to members of the new Ministry.Later, Her Excellency presided at a full Special Meeting of the ExecutiveCouncil.
